摘要:Chronic activation of brain renin-angiotensin system (RAS) contributes to the development of hypertension by altering autonomic balance. Beyond the essential role of Angiotensin II type 1 receptors, A Disintegrin And Metalloprotease 17 (ADAM17) is also found to promote brain RAS over-activation. ADAM17 is robustly expressed in various cell types within central nervous system. This presentation will report our recently updated knowledge regarding to the role of neuronal ADAM17 in development of hypertension, and how it is regulated by RAS during salt-sensitive hypertension.
